Over the weekend, Richard Gere made a remarkable appearance at the Venice Film Festival with his son Homer Gere and wife Alejandra Silva.
The family attracted attention as they attended the occasion, but not all of it was favorable as online commenters swiftly voiced their opinions over the couple’s “body language.”
The well-known Pretty Woman star dressed in traditional Hollywood style for the esteemed amfAR Gala Venezia.
Gere looked elegant in a black tuxedo with a white dress shirt and bow tie. Alejandra, his wife, was by his side and looked gorgeous in a sheer, dark blue gown that Silvia Tcherassi had made.
The dress, dubbed the “Mab Dress,” had a high neckline, an exposed back, and a billowing skirt. It was covered in elaborate lace floral appliqués. Alejandra looked even more elegant with diamond rings and earrings adorning the striking gown, which cost more than $4,200.
Gere would occasionally put his hand on Alejandra’s hip as they made loving glances while posing for the cameras. Some spectators expressed disapproval towards Alejandra’s behavior despite their seeming fondness, stating that there was something strange about her body language.

“[She] looks extremely uncomfortable,” wrote one TikTok user, while “[Terrible] body language” was used to condemn their interactions.
Some, however, were impressed by the couple’s sophistication and style in spite of these criticisms.
Alejandra’s outfit drew praise from onlookers, with one fan exclaiming, “That dress ❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙 She is stunning in it 😍😍😥🙌❤️.” Many people expressed appreciation for the Hollywood star and his stunning family, and Gere also garnered compliments for his elegant appearance.
Many festival attendees were also drawn to Homer Gere, the son of Richard Gere. There was no denying that Homer, whom Gere shares with his ex-wife Carey Lowell, looked a lot like his father when he wore a tuxedo.
Instagram users commented on how much Homer resembled his well-known father. “His son resembles him quite a bit! One reviewer said, “Lucky guy,” while another exclaimed, “His son is gorgeous🔥.”
Gere and Homer were spotted arriving by boat at the Venice Film Festival before to their appearance at the dinner. Ever courteous, Gere waved to his admirers and then moved aside to allow Homer to go. The young man, who possesses his father’s charisma and excellent looks, enthralled the crowd just as much.
Gere took the stage during the festival to discuss his career and in particular, Terrence Malick’s 1978 first picture Days of Heaven.
Visibly affected, Gere expressed his feelings to the crowd. This is my first movie, and I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this in probably thirty or forty years, so it’s really emotional for me to see,” he remarked.
Very cool moment watching Richard Gere watch himself as a 27-year-old actor in his film debut, Terrence Malick’s Days of Heaven, from 1978.
