Erik Brooks and Jill Martin have passed away.
According to Page Six, the Today lifestyle contributor and her two-year spouse filed for divorce at the beginning of August. She is a banker.
Through a dating service, Brooks and Martin got engaged in 2019. But the pandemic made things difficult for them; they had to move to different places, called off their engagement, and ultimately parted ways.
Following a separation of 18 months, Brooks and Martin were engaged once more, and in 2022 they tied the knot at the New York Public Library in front of their loved ones.
A few months before their first anniversary in 2023, the couple encountered another adversity. Martin has been diagnosed with breast cancer at stage II.
The Today contributor felt it was “important” to share not just the happy and sad but also the “scary” events of her life, so she decided to share her own health experience, which included her double mastectomy and chemotherapy.
Martin expressed her gratitude to her spouse at the time for his support during her cancer battle.
Sincerely, I’m doing alright. In an essay for Today, she said, “I have a loving husband, amazing family and friends, and an incredible support system.”
Most recently, Martin’s absence from her wedding band during her appearance on Today has drawn attention from fans.
Page Six was informed by a Martin representative that the former couple divorced at the beginning of August and that they “are nearly done with the process.”
Her spokesman went on, “Jill intends for this to be her only acknowledgment because there are families involved and because the past year has been so earth-shattering for her.” “She is focusing on her health and doing a fantastic job as a new aunt, friend, and daughter.”
Hearing about a failed marriage is never pleasant. My best wishes are with both of you.
