Brian May’s health update: The guitarist for Queen was sent to the hospital after suffering a small stroke and losing control of his arm.

Legendary guitarist and Queen co-founder Sir Brian May revealed some health news that alarmed fans: he had a “minor stroke” that prevented him from playing the guitar and sent him to the hospital.

However, May gave his supporters hope that he was getting better.

May, 77, disclosed on Instagram earlier today that he had a “health hiccup” a week prior, which was determined to be a “minor stroke.”

“It seemed as though I lost all power over this arm overnight. I have to admit, that was a little frightening,” May said.

Naturally, one of the most well-known guitarists in rock would be particularly concerned about losing control of his arm, but fortunately May reassured supporters that he is still capable of playing some mean guitar.

May remarked, “The good news is that after the events of the last few days, I can play the guitar.” He claimed that after being taken there in an ambulance, Frimley Park Hospital in England provided him with excellent care.

The legendary rock star claimed that after having the stroke, he had been told to “do nothing” and recuperate at home. Even though May claims he doesn’t want “sympathy” or to make a big deal out of the situation, many fans sent positive comments for him.

One wrote, “Sending lots of love, Brian.”

“Oh, I’m so happy to see that you’re doing well now. Someone else said, “Please take care of yourself, Pal.”

May has experienced serious health scares before; in 2020, he had a “small heart attack.”

As the principal guitarist and original member of the legendary rock group Queen, Brian May is a legendary figure in the world of rock music. Many of Queen’s best successes, such as “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Keep Yourself Alive,” and “Don’t Stop Me Now,” were propelled by his guitar solos.

Many of Queen’s most well-known songs, such as “We Will Rock You,” “Fat Bottomed Girls,” and “The Show Must Go On,” were also written by him.

Following Freddie Mercury’s passing, May performed as a solo artist while Queen was put on hiatus. But since then, they’ve got back together and are still touring with Adam Lambert as their frontman. Decades after its release, Queen’s music continues to draw in new listeners. May worked as a consultant on the 2018 Oscar-winning film Bohemian Rhapsody, which portrayed the Queen tale.

Apart from his musical career, May holds a PhD in astrophysics and established the animal charity group Save Me, advocating against badger culling and fox hunting in the United Kingdom.

May has won numerous accolades. In 2001, he was elected into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Queen, and in 2018, the band was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

May was bestowed with a great honor last year when King Charles III knighted him.

One of the greatest rock guitarists of all time, Sir Brian May, is doing well following a mild stroke. We hope he recovers well and quickly!
