This “bald” celebrity, who was once a 2000s hottie, lost his memory.

Playing Malcolm in the Middle helped this actor become well-known after he first rose to fame as a child star.

He seemed to be on top of the world, nominated for multiple accolades, including a Golden Globe.

Behind the scenes, though, the actor was juggling a difficult work environment with health concerns.

Childhood and professional life

Born in New Jersey, Frankie Muniz began his acting career at a young age but rose to fame for his legendary seven-season performance in Malcolm in the Middle.

The sitcom focused on Malcolm, a smart young man adjusting to life as the middle child in a crazy family. The actor was highly praised for his portrayal of Malcolm, which highlighted his sardonic humor and frustration with his dysfunctional family.

He was nominated for two Golden Globes in 2001 and 2002 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series for his performance, which was crucial to the show’s success.

After Malcolm in the Middle came to an end in 2006, he shifted his focus and pursued other hobbies, such professional auto racing and drumming in several rock bands.

He later managed one of those bands because he was still determined to return to acting. Even though Muniz was the lead character in the drama, he nonetheless revealed the reason for his absence from two of the episodes.

hazardous workplaces and health problems

He revealed that the toxic work environment was the reason he departed the set. He described how some people on the set produced tension, saying, “I was so mortified by seeing people afraid to stand up for themselves.” This is what News.com.au says. It was his “Say something” remark.

With an episode pay of almost $150,000, Muniz was regarded as “Hollywood’s most bankable teen” at the time. Despite his affluence, he chose to put acting on hold and focus on other interests, such as racing. He pondered on his decision and said, “I’m so much of a happier person, having stepped away,” in an interview with Steve-O’s podcast.

Muniz revealed that he had experienced nine concussions in his life, the first one being when he was just seven years old, during his 2017 Dancing With the Stars performance.

He also discussed his experiences with transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), which caused him to suffer from significant memory loss. His memory was so poor that he was unable to recall the experience of receiving his first Emmy nomination in 2001. Despite his health issues, Muniz said, “I’m 31. I’ve never touched a drug, I’ve never taken a drag off of a cigarette.” All I’ve felt is strain.

In January 2020, he tweeted, “I was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2002,” making fun of his changing appearance. I’m sitting here in 2020, staring into the mirror at my balding head.

Despite the lighthearted message, Muniz’s circumstances were getting better. In 2018, he proposed to Paige Price, and the two tied the knot in 2020. When speaking about his wedding day, Muniz said, “No, it was the best day of my life.”

In March 2021, Muniz and Price welcomed their first child, and the actor shared his joy on social media.

Despite his challenges, Muniz’s status as a major celebrity from the 2000s remains, and he is still adored as a character in 2024.
