After some time apart, Michael Madsen has made the decision to divorce DeAnna Madsen. The actor claimed they split up soon after their son Hudson committed suicide on January 25, 2022, citing irreconcilable differences as the basis for his decision.
He noted that the marriage occurred on April 15, 1996, and filed the paperwork in Los Angeles on September 17. According to People, the actor claimed in a statement he signed that his son’s suicide was caused by “neglect, drinking, and alcoholism.”
Perry Wander, Madsen’s longtime lawyer, is representing him. He has asked for a restraining order against DeAnna in response to accusations of domestic abuse, but he disputes that he ever used physical force against her. He said that DeAnna was a major cause of his personal issues and that he was the victim of a poisonous, aggressive, and dependent relationship that ended with his wife breaking into his home. He says he was wrongfully detained for domestic abuse.
Remember that the actor was detained on August 17 for marital abuse under the California Penal Code, and that his bail was set at $20,000. According to his spokeswoman, Michael went back home two days later. The Hollywood Reporter was informed later that week by Madsen’s legal representative that the actor had approached his divorcée and “asked her to leave the house, adding that this has been an ongoing issue.”
