The second attempt is often successful.
Jax Taylor refiled his divorce case on Thursday in Los Angeles, represented by attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, as per court documents acquired by Page Six on Friday.
The 45-year-old “Valley” star erred in his prior submission while self-representing.
Taylor’s initial documentation, submitted late last month, asserted that he and his former wife, Brittany Cartwright, were never legally wed, and he granted her full custody of their sole offspring, 3-year-old boy Cruz.
“Although Jax committed mistakes in completing forms typically handled by trained legal professionals, those errors will be rectified promptly,” the representative of the “Vanderpump Rules” star stated in a Wednesday announcement.
The representative did not clarify which aspect of Taylor’s filing was erroneous but indicated that custody was not a matter in the dissolution of the former couple’s marriage.
The representative stated, “Jax and Brittany have amicably settled all custody issues concerning Cruz and will persist in collaborating privately for the welfare of their son, which remains their paramount concern.”
Following Taylor’s missteps that garnered media attention, Cartwright, 35, harshly responded in an Instagram comment.
“We are legally wed,” she stated publicly. “I surmise that completing paperwork poses challenges for certain individuals.”
Taylor and the Kentucky native, a co-star on “The Valley,” were married in her home state during a June 2019 wedding presided by Lance Bass.
The former *NSYNC member also commented on Taylor’s mistakes, responding to Cartwright’s Instagram remark, “I can confirm this.” Pastor Lance executed the documents.
The Bravolebrities had their son in April 2021.
Taylor dedicated most of August to an in-patient mental health treatment facility, informing fans in advance of his intention to address his “serious anger issues” and “improve” for Cruz.
Upon returning home from the facility, where he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder and informed of his narcissistic tendencies, the former model received divorce papers.
Several days later, Cartwright discussed the divorce for the first time on her and Taylor’s collaborative podcast, “When Reality Hits.”
“It has required numerous years for me to reach this juncture, where I have acquired sufficient courage and fortitude to prioritize my well-being, extricate myself from a detrimental relationship, and ultimately recognize my value,” the brunette beauty articulated to her audience.
Although Cartwright initially filed for the dissolution of their five-year marriage, a source informed Page Six that Taylor was “100 percent in agreement” with the decision.
“He merely desires to maintain a cordial co-parenting relationship,” our insider added.
In February, Cartwright disclosed the duo’s separation on their podcast.
In the Season 1 finale of “The Valley,” which premiered in June, she informed her co-stars that Taylor — who openly confessed to infidelity during their relationship — would become “mean as a f–king snake” while contending with recurrent hangovers.
