She was 96 years old. “It is with our hearts full of love that we announce the passing of our amazing grandmother, Ethel Kennedy,” her grandson Joe Kennedy III wrote on X (which used to be called Twitter). She died this morning from problems caused by a stroke she had last week. The 44-year-old former Congressman went on, “Our mother worked her whole life for social justice and human rights. She leaves behind nine children, 34 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.”
