Lee was conscious and “is expected to fully recover,” according to his representative.
Ozzy Osbourne musician Jake E. Lee was shot and injured several times in Las Vegas early on Tuesday morning.
According to an emailed statement from Las Vegas police, the victim was shot Tuesday at roughly 2:40 a.m. and was transported to a hospital for medical attention. The police department said its investigation into the incident, which happened in a community roughly 10 miles south of the Strip, is still underway and that no arrests have been made.
In a statement, Lee’s representative acknowledged the incident and said Lee was conscious and “is expected to fully recover.”
“No more remarks will be made at this time as the event is being investigated by the authorities. The statement said, “Lee and his family appreciate that their privacy is being respected at this time.”
Amanda Cagan, the spokeswoman, stated that Lee was walking his dog when the incident occurred.
Tim Heyne, manager of Lee’s rock band Red Dragon Cartel, told The Associated Press, “By God’s grace, no major organs were hit, he’s fully responsive, and expected to make a full recovery.”
The 67-year-old Lee, who was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and grew up in San Diego, played guitar in a number of bands during the 1980s glam metal scene on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, including an early Ratt.
He played on albums such as Bark at the Moon (1983) while he was a member of Ozzy Osbourne’s band from 1982 till 1987. Later, he recorded two solo albums and performed with the metal band Badlands. Red Dragon Cartel was his most recent leadership role.
