After a four-day trip to Colombia, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle brought their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, back to the United States. Regretfully, it seems that the youthful prince and princess were thrust into the press for an unsatisfactory purpose.
The children of Harry and Meghan have not interacted with the royal side of their family at all, and it is uncertain when or if this will change. But it’s evident that King Charles, their grandfather, is eager to meet his grandchildren who live in the United States, and he may not be alone.
Therefore, it should come as no surprise that questions have been raised about Harry and Meghan’s decisions about their children. As a matter of fact, the Sussexes are currently facing accusations that they are “trapping” their kids by keeping them apart from one side of the family.
Though Lilibet’s parents have made it apparent they don’t want anything to do with the monarchy, Lilibet has stronger ties to the Royal Family than one may imagine. Although Lilibet was named after her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, there was a particularly painful moment when Lilibet was christened and given her royal title. It seems that Harry and Meghan picked a date for the christening that was more important than anyone could have predicted.
Years ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California in search of a simpler life. Many thought that the Sussexes were beginning to gradually step away from their public lives as they moved into their multimillion-dollar estate in Montecito, partly because of their children, Archie and Lilibet.
Lilibet, Princess
Nevertheless, Harry’s children continue to be the topic of conversation in the community on a frequent basis, in large part because of their parents’ behavior. For instance, Lilibet’s name was in the news all over the world in March of last year when she was granted a royal title.
After being christened by Los Angeles Archbishop Rev. John Taylor, the young girl took on the name Princess Lilibet Diana. Archie, her brother, was given the title “prince.”
About twenty to thirty guests attended the private christening at the Sussexes’ Montecito, California, home. Harry and Meghan declared in a statement that they think their kids’ prince and princess titles are a “birthright.”
Ever since their grandfather became a monarch, the children have been entitled to their titles by birth. A representative for the couple stated that the issue has been resolved for some time in accordance with Buckingham Palace.
Naturally, a lot of people were perplexed by Archie and Lilibet’s newfound status as prince and princess. The topic was covered by Meghan in the now-famous Oprah interview.
She stated, “They were saying they didn’t want [Archie] to be a prince or princess because they didn’t know what gender would be appropriate, which would be against protocol.”
Everyone knew that Harry and Meghan didn’t want to take Archie and Lilibet’s birthrights away from them. Rather, they wanted Archie and Lilibet to be free to choose whether or not to retain their titles as they grew older.
Princess Lilibet’s royal title is a “burden,” according to a royal specialist.
Archie and Lilibet will probably save their royal titles for special occasions rather than using them on a regular basis.
Though Harry and Meghan have every reason to be proud of their two children’s royal titles, not everyone shares their enthusiasm. In an article for Sky News Australia, author and royal expert Angela Levin discussed the choice and expressed concern that it would have an unfavorable effect on Archie and Lilibet’s futures.
Furthermore, Levin contends that Lilibet’s parent’s choice has placed a heavy load on her.
According to Levin, “Little Lilibet will take a long time to realize the extent of the burden her parents have placed on her young shoulders.”
She continued by saying that Harry and Meghan, who have long lambasted the British Royal Family, have now “glued her to the family” by bestowing a princess title on their daughter.
“Why in the world would you want your daughter to go through this kind of suffering?” Levin enquired, saying that Lilibet’s life will be harder on a daily basis now that her name is associated with a princess title.
“Little girls love to be princesses at parties, that much is clear, but if Lilibet is the only real princess in the class, that could easily lead to jealousy,” the royal expert said in closing.
Author and royal expert Tom Quinn claims that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are significantly more exposed because of their royal titles. The children would soon feel “horribly trapped,” he warned Express.
“Archie and Lilibet will face bullying at school.”
Quinn predicts that Archie and Lilibet will grow up in a world where the “American Dream” is not realized. The affluent upbringing of Archie and Lilibet goes against the American Dream, which holds that everyone can succeed regardless of background, according to the author of Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family, who spoke with the Express.
The two young children may come to regret being divorced from the notion that one’s heritage is unimportant.
Because others think Lilibet and Archie are a prince and princess, I can assume they’ll be harassed and maybe bullied at school. You’re in a terrible situation,” he said to Express.
Quinn went on to say that a child prince or princess would not be the first to struggle in school. When King Charles arrived at the esteemed Scottish boarding school Gordonstoun at a young age, he really had a notoriously bad time.
Charles initially believed that, as the heir apparent to the throne, he would be treated with dignity when he arrived at Gordonstoun. The royal expert continued, “In actuality, that meant he was bullied far more than the other boys.”
“These things are valued here more highly than they are in America. People may initially think you’re amazing if you’re born into these circumstances, but eventually the shine fades and you have to figure out what to do with your life.
On March 8, International Women’s Day, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to christen Lilibet.
Tragic information regarding Princess Lilibet’s birthdate
But that wasn’t the only significance associated with that particular date. It was also exactly six months after Lilibet’s great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away, as royal aficionados swiftly noticed.
Nevertheless, Harry and Meghan had previously selected a significant announcement date for Lilibet’s baptism.
The news that Meghan was expecting Lilibet was first revealed by the Sussexes on Valentine’s Day of 2021. It’s interesting to note that Princess Diana revealed her pregnancy to Harry on the same day. The couple claims that after they had disclosed Lilibet’s pregnancy, they were only made aware of the coincidence.
“I was taken aback. We were clueless. Harry stated in their Netflix series that “it was just a coincidence, or maybe not a coincidence.”
Harry and Meghan have been careful to limit their kids’ media exposure and refrain from posting images of them online. Meanwhile, the Duchess made the decision to reveal more about her daughter during the Sussexes’ four-day tour of Colombia last week. Meghan stated in a speech that she wants to inspire Lilibet to speak up and serve as an example for her.
Meghan remarked, “At three, she has found her voice.” We take great pride in this because, as I mentioned earlier, it sets the stage for young girls and women to know that if someone else is empowering them to speak up and be heard, that’s exactly what they will do and that will create a very different environment than so many of us grew up in, where our voices were meant to be smaller.
An authority on royalty elucidates Princess Lilibet’s “great tragedy”
Meghan, however, was ecstatic to welcome her daughter, but a royal specialist has now revealed the painful fact that Princess Lilibet and her brother, Prince Archie, are not close to their grandfather, King Charles.
There have been whispers that the monarch is considering traveling across the Atlantic to meet his grandkids, and that he is “heartbroken” at not being able to see them in the US. It may not be simple to follow through, though, given the royal schedule’s well-known strictness.
Michael Cole, a former BBC royal correspondent and royal specialist, addressed Meghan’s comments regarding Lilibet in her speech in Colombia during an appearance on GB News. He stated that Lilibet’s “great tragedy” is that she has yet to meet the Royal Family. Furthermore, Thomas Markle, Lilibet’s maternal grandpa, continues to be shunned.
Cole expressed regret, adding, “It’s a tremendous pity that young girl won’t be saying ‘hello, grandpa,’ since she hasn’t met her maternal grandfather, Thomas Markle, or King Charles.
“They travel the world and attempt to do good; we welcome the good, but you have to carry that home with you.”
Cole also talked about the tense relationship that exists in the UK between Harry, Meghan, and the Royal Family, asking, “What hope have they got in making bridges to other communities, other faiths, and other beliefs if they can’t make bridges within their own family?”
