Richard Simmons was interred in his exercise attire.
The fitness expert died in July at the age of 76, and his brother Lenny Simmons said that he will don his iconic tank top and shorts for a celebration of life event in New Orleans on Saturday.
In footage acquired by TMZ, Lenny informed the audience: “Similar to Clark Kent beneath his elegant attire, [Richard] is clad in a tank top and shorts.”
“Why do you inquire?” We believe that God has an other plan for him, and we wish to ensure that he will don his familiar costume, which we all cherish, to assist the saints and angels in achieving fitness.
In conclusion, Lenny stated: “I am here to convey that although he is not physically present, I believe Richard Simmons is spiritually with us tonight, eternally sweating alongside the Holies.” Thank you for your attendance.
Richard succumbed to blunt traumatic injuries the day following his 76th birthday after experiencing a fall at his residence.
In an interview shortly prior to his demise, he articulated that he never regarded himself as a “celebrity.”
When inquired about the experience of being referred to as a “legend,” he responded: “I do not perceive it at all.” I do not perceive the term legend. I do not perceive the term icon. I have never experienced a life of celebrity. I never considered myself a celebrity.
“Many are unaware that I am, in fact, quite shy and somewhat introverted.” However, when the curtain rises, the narrative changes significantly. I am present to elicit joy in others.
