The vice president will make her sixth appearance on the program the day following the broadcast of a ’60 Minutes’ interview, also on CBS.
Vice President Kamala Harris is incorporating a second CBS visit into her agenda for next week.
Harris is scheduled to appear as a guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, as confirmed by the network and her campaign. This will be her inaugural late-night interview following her nomination as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate and her sixth total visit on The Late Show. Her most recent appearance on the show was in March 2023.
The Late Show appearance will occur one day following a 60 Minutes interview with Harris, also shown on CBS. The election special also invited Republican nominee Donald Trump, who first consented to the interview but subsequently withdrew. Scott Pelley, scheduled to interview Trump, will discuss Trump’s absence during the show; Bill Whitaker will do the interview with Harris. The 60 Minutes special will air on Monday due to the show’s preemption from its usual Sunday slot by a 50th anniversary special of the American Music Awards.
Harris’ vice-presidential candidate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will also be participating in late-night television appearances next week. He will be a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night on ABC, marking his inaugural appearance on a network late-night program. Walz will participate in the 60 Minutes program on Monday.
