Was there a second attempt to kill Donald Trump?
At Trump’s gathering in Coachella on October 12, there were no shots fired. ABC 7 says that a guy named Vem Miller was arrested for bringing a loaded gun and a large magazine to the event. Hollywood Life looked at online records and saw that the man from Las Vegas was arrested at the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio, California, on suspicion of having a loaded gun and a high-capacity magazine. After that, he was freed on $5,000 bail.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office later told reporters on Sunday, October 13, that Miller’s actions did not have any effect on Trump or anyone else at his gathering.
According to internet records from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Miller has a court date set for January 2, 2025, at the Indio Larson Justice Center.

How many times have people tried to kill Donald Trump?
At least two people have tried to kill Trump. Ryan Wesley South pointed a gun at Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15. After shots were fired, he ran away, but he was quickly caught by the police.
Trump was shot several times by Thomas Matthew Crooks while he spoke at a gathering in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, two months before. Trump’s ear was hit by a bullet, and the Secret Service rushed him off the stage and into a car. A shooter from the Secret Service shot Crooks. At the gathering, two people were shot, and one of them died.
What did Trump say about the attempt to shoot him?
Trump hasn’t said anything about the threat he may have faced at his gathering in Southern California. However, he has made public statements about the two earlier attempts on his life. Trump told everyone in September that he was “safe and well” and that he would “never give up.”
Trump thanked Secret Service agents in a statement after the shooting in Pennsylvania for “response[ing] quickly to the shooting that just happened in Butler, Pennsylvania.”
“But most of all, I want to send my condolences to the family of the person who died at the rally and the family of another person who was badly hurt,” Trump said.
