People have strong feelings about Hoda Kotb’s leaving the “Today Show,” and some fans have asked an odd question about the other anchors.
The news came out on Thursday, September 26, that Hoda Kotb was leaving the “Today Show.” Even though a lot of people were sad that she was going, the internet quickly changed its mind. A lot of people began to say bad things about Kotb’s co-hosts.
Kotb said that she quit NBC after 26 years because she wanted to think about her future now that she was 60 years old. In a message to her coworkers and on live TV, she told them how much she appreciated her time at NBC.
The host wrote in her message to the team, “I know I’m making the right choice, but it hurts.” She said that her family, especially her daughters Haley and Hope, played a big part in her choice. “They deserve a bigger piece of my time pie,” she said.
Everyone got upset on Thursday’s show, even though her co-hosts knew what she was up to. But something strange happened online after the show aired.
Many viewers were upset with Kotb’s co-hosts, Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager, while others were interested in her amazing career and impact. They shared strong views in the comment sections of social media sites. “Take Savannah and Jenna with you,” someone on YouTube urged.
“Her contract was up, and NBC didn’t want to pay her demand,” wrote another user, who didn’t like what NBC did. That’s why she’s going! Because of her, I just watched the show! This girl Hoda is so much better than Savannah! Hoda was the best, and Savannah is terrible! I will never watch the TODAY SHOW again because the light is out!😢 [sic].
More people were after the co-hosts. “And everyone cried. Savannah, whom they said they weren’t friends with a few months ago, is talked about as if she had died. They’re all trying to outdo each other, which is fake.” Someone wrote a comment.
Another fan showed their dislike for Guthrie’s continued appearances on the show by saying, “I know Savannah is to blame.” She should be the one to leave. I love Hoda 💏. She is one of the best reporters there. 😏😢 [sic].
Someone on Facebook complained, “No, she’s the best!” Nicole should leave! “Savannah could go!” Other people wrote things like “Now, can we PLEASE get rid of Savannah?” In the same way, one fan asked, “Can Jenna go too?” Please be pretty?I would have liked it better if Jenna had gone instead.
People said that Guthrie and Bush Hager were competing with each other and didn’t trust each other. One commentator also questioned their goals. “I hope this is really what you want.” Jenna has only been waiting behind you for you. Do not trust Savannah or her. We’ll miss you.
One of our AmoMama readers went even further and said, “Please please please take Jena. She’s such an embarrassment. Who cares if she doesn’t wear underwear?”
Along with the harsh criticism of Bush Hager and Guthrie, our users sent their best wishes to Kotb. Someone told you, “You made the right choice, but it’s sad to see you go.” Spend as much time as possible with your kids because they grow up too fast! Thank you very much. Someone else said, “Hoda, best wishes!” We’ll miss you! I’m glad you made this choice.
Some watchers, including one who talked about a special time they had with Kotb, shared personal stories. “Congrats Hoda on 17 years of great marriage!” she wrote. What I will remember most is when you stopped by the square to talk to my grandchildren from Oceanside, LI this summer. […] This made their days better, as well as ours, as people who watched the Today Show. Thank you, Hoda.
Other people who supported AmoMama said how they really felt and praised Hoda Kotb’s choice. You and your family made a great move. Someone wrote, “Thank you for 17 years, you’ve been a class act.”
Someone else who reads AmoMama said, “So happy for you!” The show won’t be the same without you, though. 💗 You are the best news reporter ever.
In the same way, many people told her, “Hoda, you are doing the right thing,” when she chose to put her family first. Life doesn’t last long. Spend as much time as you can with your kids making memories. You will be missed on NBC after all these years. Thank you very much. and “It’s a real blessing to be able to retire and enjoy life as it comes!” Enjoy your time with your lovely family!Happy holidays and peace to everyone!
“Congratulations!” As time goes by, one person said, “One thing we’ve all learned is that time is a thief.” It’s great that she has that choice. I’ve liked her because she has a good attitude.
Even with all of these answers, Kotb’s time at NBC is still the best part of her life. A lot of people have liked her on the network for almost thirty years.
At first, she worked on “Dateline.” Later, she became a regular on “Today,” where she co-hosted several segments, most famously with Bush Hager (who has been with NBC since 2009) and Kathie Lee Gifford.
